A candle of knowledge was lit in the name of Government Girls Inter College in 1968 in Asia's largest colony i.e.,Ghulam Muhammad Abad, Faisalabad. The college was inaugurated on 02 August 1689 by the former Director of Colleges Mr. Abdul Sattar Chawla Sahib(Deceased).This college currently covers an area of 38 kanals. Besides, an adjoining plot covering about 11 (Eleven) Kanals has been allotted by the Govt. of the Punjab, Pakistan 6 blocks, 60 rooms and 08 laboratories were constructed in the college as per the map.
The college was granted the status of Degree College on 01-09-2003. Construction of degree block has been completed. It consists of modern classrooms, library. Hundreds of girl students are studying Information Technology from I.C.S. A water filtration plant has also been established with the support of FOF. Moreover, in view of the increasing number of female students, two developmental projects for the construction of more rooms on the adjoining plot have been completed and handed over to the college by the government.The college has a distinct identity among other institutions of the district. We all pray for its development in the future, that this institution may lead to the rise of the nation.
